Medical Gas

Midland Medical Services supply a wide range of medical gas products and services. We also supply medical gases that meet the specific needs of medical professionals and patients.

Our range of medical gases include different cylinder sizes and technology. This helps to ensure medical gas supply is safe and secure in various fields, including anaesthesia, intensive care, obstetrics and pulmonology.

Medical gases include:

Medical Oxygen
Used for resuscitation, inhalation therapy, life support, and minimizing infections in surgical wounds. It is also utilized to enhance various anesthetic methods and boost oxygen levels in a variety of conditions, such as cardiopulmonary diseases, trauma, shock, and carbon monoxide exposure.

Synthetic Medical Air
Serves as a substitute for polluted air, acts as a carrier gas in anesthesia, powers pneumatic devices, and regulates airflow in ventilators and incubators.

Medical Carbon Dioxide
Facilitates increased anesthetic depth, aids in intubation, promotes vasodilation and cerebral blood flow, stimulates respiration, and supports diagnostic procedures. It is also valuable in minimally invasive surgical techniques and tissue cryoablation.

Medical Helium
Combined with 21% oxygen, it enhances gas flow in patients suffering from severe respiratory blockages or helps avert atelectasis. Additionally, it is utilized in pulmonary function assessments using various air or oxygen mixtures.

Medical Nitrous Oxide
Used in conjunction with inhalation anesthetics for pain management during emergencies and brief medical procedures, in dental practices, and occasionally during laparoscopy.

Inhaled Nitric Oxide
Applied in intensive care settings for both adults and pediatric patients, Inhaled Nitric Oxide Therapy (INO) assists those experiencing breathing difficulties. By lowering pulmonary pressure, INO enhances blood circulation and oxygen supply throughout the body.

As well as the medical gases themselves, we can design and install your entire medical gas system, including pipelines, terminal units, alarms and accessories. Speak to our team today who are ready to work alongside you to ensure your medical gas systems are working optimally.

Why choose us?

We have nearly 40 years’ experience supplying medical gas systems, laboratory gas systems and other gas systems such as those used by the dental and veterinary industries. During that time we have gained a strong reputation for efficiency, quality and a solution-focused attitude which has made us a key contact for many NHS Trusts. Indeed during the Covid-19 pandemic, we were the first point of contact to install a medical gas system at a Nightingale hospital at the NEC in Birmingham.
